This course aims to satisfy the legal requirement of the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 to provide qualified first aiders in the work environment.
Course Syllabus Overview
- The priorities of first aid
- Awareness of personal safety
- Assessment and management of an incident
- Causes of unconsciousness
- Management of the unconscious casualty
- Resuscitation (CPR)
- Management of airway and breathing problems
- Treatment of wounds, bleeding and shock
- Assessment and treatment of common injuries and medical conditions
- Dealing with burns, poisons and eye injuries
- Legal record keeping and use of equipment
- By choosing the in-house option, this course can be run over several days, scheduled to suit your requirements.
On successful completion of the course, the candidate will receive the HSE Approved, nationally recognised First Aid at Work Certificate. This is valid for three years after which a re-qualification course will be necessary.
We also offer a 2 day requalification course upon expiry of your original First Aid at Work Certificate.
I just wanted to say, the course was one of the best I've been on, it was informative but non threatening, with hacks and anecdotes, making a very interesting day.
